Taichi and Qigong Classes for the Retired
Tuesdays from 3pm – 4pm at Cringleford Church Hall
Classes are run by Debbie Warren Green. Taichi and Qigong are gentle Chinese exercises for health and well-being. They are therapeutic and relaxing, reduce stress and tension, and improve posture, co-ordination, balance and movement. Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, and are especially beneficial for older people.
Although it is a martial art, taichi is often called "moving meditation". The forms are performed slowly and provide health benefits, especially for muscles and joints.
Qigong (pronounced Chee-Gung) consists of simple non martial exercises leading to beautiful more complex forms. The exercises work with qi (the life force or energy that flows through everything), with acupunture points and meridians, in accordance with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
