My Service
As a busy Mum of two, I know what a chore it can be to make a packed lunch for a child every day. Trying to make a meal that is affordable, imaginative and tasty, whilst meeting all the nutritional guidelines we are given as parents is not easy. (Especially if you want your child to eat what they’re given!)
So designed to take that stress away, I have created The Happy Lunch Club - an exciting new packed lunch service providing fun and healthy lunches to schools in Norfolk. I am extremely pleased that Cringlefords Head teacher Miss Gill Blake, has allowed me the opportunity to trial this idea and expect more schools to follow suit in time
Each lunch, selected from the menu which changes every half term, is delivered fresh in the mornings in a clearly labelled recyclable bag. It’s kept cool until lunchtime in a cool box and handed to the child in the same way as home sent lunches. The bag comes back with the child so parents can see what has been eaten
My aims
· Taking into account School Food Trust guidelines, I will endeavour to provide healthy and nutritionally balanced choices for the child. Further information about these guidelines can be found at www.schoolfoodtrust.org.uk
· Each lunch will provide the child with one daily portion of dairy, protein and carbohydrate. It could also provide at least two of the recommended five a day. In addition, the menu includes a weekly portion of oily fish
· Juice options will be 100% pure
· Lunch options will always be varied and imaginative, giving the child a chance to try new tastes
· Food will be locally sourced and packaging will be recyclable or reusable wherever possible
