On July 8th the Cringleford and Eaton Horticultural Society met as usual in Cringleford Church Hall. Unfortunately our speaker Jan Pulger of the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens had been stricken with shingles and was unable to come. Luckily we have members who will step in at short notice, and Rita and Neil Rout provided an excellent evening's entertainment. Rita read amusing extracts from a book on gardening. We formed ourselves into small groups for a series of quizzes, mostly on gardening, given out by Neil in his inimitable way. So a most enjoyable evening was had by all.
