Welcome to Cringleford Historical Society
Cringleford is a large and pleasant village three miles south-west of Norwich at a natural crossing of the River Yare. Despite being so near to Norwich it has so far managed to keep a distinct identity.
Cringleford has an interesting history, aspects of which are discussed in publications of the Society. Titles and purchasing details are available here.
Cringleford Historical Society was formed in 1981 to promote the study of the history, architecture, antiquities and development of the village. Its activities consist of a programme of talks running through the Autumn and winter and visits, usually three in number during the summer. The talks are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month in the Playing Field Pavilion, Oakfield Road, Cringleford at 7.30 pm
