Man of the Match Brynn Mullen
A delayed start saw Cringleford start well, fall away in the middle, and storm in at the end of the match, the first quarter started with Cringleford keeping the ball and constantly threaten to score. The quarter finished with Cringleford 4-0 up. The goals coming from Bryn (2) Leo, and an own goal. Cringleford’s first came from good play and a good finish from the man of the match Bryn Mullen, The second goal came from great work down the right with Ashley Smith winning the ball knocking it on to Bryn and with the top goal scorer Leo Taylor always available in went goal number 2. Cringleford were now beginning to start to fade away but with good defending from Reece Slater and James Curtis meant that the Cringleford goal keeper Connor Milligan was very rarely tested. When Connor was called upon, he was solid. Cringleford’s third was an own goal from the Mulbarton defender who was caught of balance and with the ball striking him so quickly he was unable to avoid putting it into his own net. Another good run from Ash ended with a shot from Joe Dickinson who was determined to cover every blade of grass today. Cringleford’s fourth goal was another great finish from Bryn. The quarter ended with a tremendous corner from Bryn struck full on the volley by Joe. Unfortunately it hit the goalie spun up and hit the bar on its way out of play. The quarter ended Cringleford four nil up.
The second quarter saw Alex Hardy come on for Leo, Tom Lister come on for Reece, and Jacob Sharred came on for James, Joe and Ash were in complete control of the midfield in this quarter that saw two more goals for the home side and the away side pulling one back. Cringleford’s fifth goal saw the same Mulbarton putting into his home net again and with a great knock on from Joe saw the Mulbarton goalkeeper make a good save from Bryn Mullen’s shot. Mulbarton pulled a goal back to make it 5-1. More attacking from Cringleford saw Ashley put the goalie under pressure and getting his head to the ball to make it 6-1.
The game was now finished as a contest and Cringleford played like the game was all over. High points of this quarter were 2 great runs from Leo but unable to convert into goals. Mulbarton were competing for every ball and Cringleford’s defence of Jacob and Tom was not letting the Mulbarton attack near Connor’s goal. The quarter ended 6-1
The final quarter saw Cringleford add another 3 goals to the score line 2 from Leo and a tremendous solo effort from Bryn. Mulbarton added a late goal to and the game finished Cringleford 9 Mulbarton 2
Cringleford now have 7 league fixtures left 3 in the South Norfolk and 4 in the Christian Youth League. Please keep track of the dates.
The end of season tournaments we are entering are. Attleborough tournament 16th May. Dereham tournament date tbc. And hopefully, the Watton tournament.
Dave.
