of the Match Tom Lister
On a very wet and soggy day Cringleford travelled to New Buckenham for a league match that ended with one way traffic towards the New Bucks goal.
The first quarter saw goals from Leo, Joe and Bryn giving Cringleford a 3 goal lead and complete control of the game at the first break.
The second quarter saw Cringleford introduce Alex Hardy and Mr Lister and again Cringleford dominated with further goals coming from Joe (2) Leo (2) and James with a pile driver into the corner of the goal. The quarter finished with Cringleford 8 goals up.
Cringleford were now rampant but kept the shape that we asked for before the game started, and with plenty of passing from Jacob out of defence to attack Cringleford were completely in control. Connor was getting in on the act and calmly passing the ball out of his box to our forwards to set up more attacks. Goals from Alex (2) Bryn (2) Joe and Reece gave Cringleford a 14 goal lead going into the final quarter.
The final quarter started again with Alex hitting the back of the net and quickly followed with goals from Bryn (2) and Goals James and the last coming from a still hungry Leo.
Leo has now beaten his dads long standing record of goals scored in side a season, you will need to ask David exactly what the record is as my hands were too cold to write it down.
Full credit to New Bucks lads who never stopped competing and showed true spirit,
New Bucks gave the man of the match award to Tom Lister and in the words of the manager saying “he showed great calmness when on the ball”
That said I think the lads from both teams deserve a man of the match award for carrying on in torrential rain. I also believe a special mention must go to Connor who stuck to his job for the full length of the game and made great saves when required.
