Man of the Match Leo Taylor
Cringleford played local rivals Mulbarton and went into this fixture with only 6 fit players. The game was played at a very fast pace from the first minute. Cringleford had the better of the early exchanges, but Mulbarton came back very strongly. Cringleford opened the scoring with a well taken free kick by Captain Joe D.
James was injured in the first half but showed every body what a strong lad he is and refused to come off the pitch. He played the remainder of the game and scored a fine goal in the last 15.
The second 15 saw Cringleford starting to push away and Leo scored a good goal to put Cringleford 2 up.
Leo increased the lead to 3 nil early in the 3rd half and went on to add another to his ever growing goals tally. Sam Foster had to run the length of the pitch to score a well taken goal after good work from Leo down the right. 2 great saves by Tom Lister kept the home team with another clean sheet
Reece Slater went very close with a tremendous run and shot. Had the ball gone in it would have been goal of the match.
The final 15 saw Cringleford finally take control of the game with 2 goals from Leo and the goal by James gave Cringleford an 8-0 win. This was a great team performance in difficult times. Praise must go to Mulbarton for never giving up the fight. I’m sure the return fixture will be a closer result than this one.
Well done to all – The players for all there effort, to the parents, supporters, friends, family, injured and poorly players who turned out to support the team.

Following a short prayer service from the Vicar of Eaton and the arrival of Zach’s kit. The first matches of the season for the Christian Youth League U’10’s began. St Peters started as they meant to go on with a shot on goal from the first whistle. This was valiantly held by Dougie in goal and gave him and the rest of the team a taste of what was to come. The difference in size between the two teams soon became clear as Cringleford were in awe of St Peter’s. Nevertheless Cringleford won a number of challenges most notably leading to a corner when Alfie Dearmer came close to putting the ball into the back of the net. Shortly after this St Peter’s scored when the player skilfully received the ball just outside the penalty area and put an unstoppable goal into the back of the net. Many more shots pounded the Cringleford Goal and Dougie skilfully prevented the first half becoming a rout. St Johns scored one more goal before the break.
The second period showed Cringleford trying to turn the tide and Laurie came close to scoring. The victory went to St Peters with them adding a further 3 goals.

The boys were keen to do well for Ian’s last game in charge. They started well and moved the ball around. Michael found himself on the end of a glorious move and slotted the ball home after about five minutes.
There was more Cringleford pressure and Cringleford won a corner on the left. Sam floated the ball into the area – there was a scramble and Dereham really should have cleared – but the ball fell to Ally just inside the area and he stuck it in the back of the net.
There was more Cringleford pressure, but the Dereham heads did not drop and they had several chances on the break – and then they scored from a quick move out of defence.
Hearts were in mouths as Dereham won a free kick just outside the area. The kick was well struck and floated just to the left of Elliot’s goal.
Then David was brought down. There were calls for a penalty, but a free kick was awarded just outside and on the left of Dereham’s area. Sam stepped up, and struck the ball over the wall. There was possibly a deflection off a defender and the ball finished in the back of the net to restore the two goal advantage.
At half time Charlie came on for Michael.
The second half started with more Cringleford pressure, but despite the possession and the territorial advantage the boys could not find the goal. Joe struck across goal from the left, with the keeper just getting a finger tip to the ball to push it out for a corner. Joe struck from the right, but there was no Cringleford player to stick a foot out and finish.
Then Tom took a long 20 yard looping effort that seemed to bounce through the keepers legs and then bounce out. No goal was awarded.
With ten minutes to go, Michael came on for David. Cringleford won a corner on the left. Harry floated the ball into the area. Charlie vollied the ball home to wrap up the game at 4 – 1.
This was a super team performance and a fitting send off for Ian.

Harriers produced their least convincing performance of the season aganst an improving Happisbugh side, but still managed to come out of the game with a win to extend their unbeaten run to 7 games. In this run Harriers have only conceded 1 goal, but the fact that this remained so was largely due to a man of the match performace from Lewis Sanders who put in a commanding performace in defence, supported by the energy and commitment of Benji Taylor in midfield. Although the team put together some good passing moves during the match much of the play was scrappy and loose. Encouragingly, more attempts were made on goal, though these did not trouble the opposition goalkeeper. The only goal of the game was scored in the first half by David Roe from a dipping right foot shot from the left.
