Round House Park
Round House Park was launched in June 2007. The total development covers 40 Hecatres of which over 12 hectares will be open space made up of parkland, woodland and meadows.
Since this time we have seen huge changes and have been pleased to welcome new neighbours into our village.
At the end of 2008 it was announced that the number of houses planned for the site has been increased from 750 to 1065. The extra houses will all be accommodated on the existing site and the plans include the land for the new school, community centre and shopping area. To see a copy of the document contact the Clerk to the Parish Council.
The Next Stage
Meanwhile the rest of the development is being reviewed by the Parish council to ensure that the new recreation centre is situated in the best location. The Parish council have consistently taken a strong line that the new community centre should be co-located with the parkland and there must be a sports playing field associated with the community centre. In May 2009 , Phase 2 of the Round House Park was given permission pending the signing of a section 106 agreement. The agreement will cover such items as the provision of a new Community Centre, a recycling centre and a finanial contribution towards sheltered housing. The Parish Council will be heavily involved in the development of the new centre & have given assurances that they will not sign it until they are satisfied that they have achieved the best possible outcome for the people of Cringleford.
